Professor of Law

Daniel E. Ho is the William Benjamin Scott and Luna M. Scott  Professor of Law, Professor of Political Science, and Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research at Stanford University. He is also Associate Director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence (HAI) and Director of the Regulation, Evaluation, and Governance Lab (RegLab). His work sits at the intersection of antidiscrimination law, public policy, and data science. He has worked with a range of government agencies such as the Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, and the Santa Clara County Public Health Department to design, prototype, and evaluate machine learning to improve program administration, with a focus on algorithmic fairness. He co-leads projects enhancing the AFC data to make them more useful for population health research transformation of research findings into policy and practice.
